As spotted by our friends over at RockPaperShotgun, Rogier “Rhodan” Noordhuizen has been hard at work of Blades Of Ashina – a mod that takes the movesets and weapons you’ll find in From Software’s critically-acclaimed 2019 game and weaves them into the doomed, gothic world of Dark Souls 3. You can download the mod now at Nexus Mods. The mod first came out in June 2020, but another update arrived for the project in January 2021, rounding the weapon selection out to nine different arms and a couple of spells, too. If you want more of the most recent From game in one of its more classic titles, fret not: Rhodan is at work on more as we type. Though the modder is dealing with a wrist injury right now, there are some big plans for the future of the mod, and “Bloodborne weapons are not off the table right now” though Rhodan doesn’t want to add anything else unless “it feels up to par with all the other weapons in Dark Souls III.” This mod is at least somewhat in keeping with the core design philosophy of Dark Souls 3 – it’s all physical attacks and spacing – and it’s a far cry from the Dark Souls 3 mod that brings AK47s and M16s to the game. If you are eager to jump back into the Dark Souls 3 experience – with or without the Sekiro mod installed – you could do worse than heading over to our Dark Souls 3 guide; put down bosses, collect powerful loot, recruit NPCs and triumph over your foes. Our guide helps you do it all. If you need a helping hand with all things Sekiro once you get to grip with the weapons in Dark Souls 3, don’t forget to check out our comprehensive Sekiro guide – you will die more than twice, but that’s the whole point of the game, right?
