Doom 2016’s pistol was its least powerful weapon by far. It was the first one given to you, and was meant to be a stepping stone to the game’s more powerful toys. Doom Eternal does not have that pistol, but as it turns out, it did at one point during development. Game developer Dave Oshry found the pistol in the game’s files. Through the magic of Cheat Engine and console commands (g_enablePistol 1), Oshry managed to get it to load up in-game. As you’re about to see, the pistol has a unique animation, sounds and looks pretty much finished. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Manage cookie settings I’ve heard it was scrapped because it didn’t really fit the combat flow.
