Game preservationist Andrew Borman posted a ten-minute gameplay from THQ’s cancelled Avengers game. The project, which got axed in 2011, was in development for Xbox 360. Footage from this in-development build was recovered from a hard drive obtained by Obscure Gamers, itself a game preservation and archival community. Right off the bat, we immediately see Thor, Hulk and Captain America through Iron Man’s first-person perspective. Much of the environment is unfinished, with blocky, texture-less objects everywhere....

Developer Torn Banner Studios and its publishing partners have announced that Chivalry 2 has sold over 1 million units worldwide across all platforms since releasing on June 8. This nice figure also marks the first million-unit selling title for the game’s publisher, Tripwire Presents, and is now the developer’s fastest-selling title, ever. The news follows the release of the House Galencourt update, which is the first in a series of planned free content updates....

This statement, released on the Blizzard forums around the time when queues were really horrendous, covers the issue and provides some context for the problem. In terms of solutions, Blizzard halted character creation and transferring to badly-affected mega servers, and locked them down “indefinitely”. This essentially stopped an increased influx of players making the queues worse, which when combined with free transfers off realms has appeared to curb the problem somewhat....

Crytek announced today Crisis Remastered will not release on July 23 as originally planned. Today’s official trailer reveal has also been delayed. The news comes from Twitter, where a fan publicly asked the company if Cyberpunk 2077 would include free DLC in the same vein as The Witcher 3. CD Projekt Red quickly responded via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, posting an irrefutably unambiguous “Oh Yeah” Kool-Aid GIF. Check out the exchange below. It’s worth noting that this doesn’t mean the game won’t feature paid DLC as well. Geoff Keighley and Hideo Kojima reignited their long-running buddy romance to announce Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was announced during Summer Games Fest Kickoff today. As per the duo, the game is coming to PS5 “soon” and the proper reveal for the title is “just weeks away”. The game has been hinted at before, too. If you want some Kojima gossip to keep you going whilst you wait for the full reveal, you may like to know that he was reportedly working on an episodic horror game for Stadia before Google pulled the plug on the project last year....

Sony’s second big PlayStation exclusive to come to PC hasn’t quite had the same success as the first. Days Gone, which launched on PC a week ago, charted on Steam’s top sellers list repeatedly, but ended up attracting a smaller audience compared to Horizon Zero Dawn. Days Gone’s highest ever figure for concurrent players on Steam is 27,450, which it achieved over the weekend following a nice gradual ramp-up. This is less than half of Horizon Zero Dawn’s debut last year, which amounted to 56,557 at its peak....

Bungie announced the crossover earlier this week, where it showed off the costumes players will be able to find in both games. On December 6, Valhalla players will be able to pick up the Destiny-2 themed character pack, “which includes armour sets, swords, a scout skin and a mount skin,” as outlined in a blog post from Ubisoft, all of which look like a mildly mediaeval take on Destiny’s sci-fi look....
